Introducing Guar gum and investigating its uses

The first time guar was planted dates back to centuries ago, and since the plant has high resistance to harsh conditions such as dehydration, intense direct sunlight, and inappropriate lands, the United States decided in the early 1900s to transmit guar and cultivate it on the lands of Texas and Oklahoma.

Although the volume of cultivation in the United States grew considerably until 1950, India still ranks first in the world with 80% of the world’s guar production. Guar gum is today used as a thickener in industries such as food, medicine and cosmetics.

Guar gum uses in the food industry

In the food industry, this ingredient is used as a gelling agent, viscous and concentrating agent, stabilizing and moisturizing agent, curing agent and binder. Guar gum is also used in the production of ice cream, drinks, flavored milk extract, chocolate milk, pudding, jam, jelly, bread, biscuits, sausages, ham, mayonnaise, pasta, etc.
